About Zanzibar
Zanzibar mixes two kinds of trip. On the coast, it is soft sand, warm water and dhows on the horizon. In Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is carved doors, markets and centuries of trading history.
Most travellers spend a night or two in Stone Town, then move to a beach on the north or east coast. It is a short flight from the Serengeti, Arusha or Nairobi.
Best time to go
Jun – Oct, Dec – Feb
Dry and sunny from June to October and again from December to February. The long rains fall around April and May.
